PLEASE NOTE: The April 18 Date is not the day this training begins.  It is the last day to submit an application.  Classes begin on May 10

Space is limited. You must submit the the application by April 18, 2014.

The Certified Beekeepers program, new in 2014, is organized through the New Mexico Beekeepers Association in cooperation with the City of Albuquerque. This comprehensive beekeeping program will provide quality education, taught by experienced beekeepers, on backyard beekeeping in the context of responsible urban farming for the Albuquerque metropolitan area.

Sessions for the 2014 Certified Beekeepers program are scheduled for seven Saturdays:  May 10 and 31, June 14 and 28, July 12 and 26, and August 9. Each session will include three classroom presentations by recognized local beekeepers and a supervised hands-on segment, using live top-bar and Langstroth hives, on the premises of the City of Albuquerque’s Open Space Visitors Center.

The application is on the NMBKA web site, and you can apply online or send your application via U.S. Mail.

Program cost is $250.
