Sunday July 28, 2019 Santa Fe, New Mexico
Les Crowder will lead a workshop in the Santa Fe area on Sunday July 28th. Les began keeping bees in Bernalillo, NM 40 + years ago. He has spent many hours with bare hands in open beehives and tries to observe clues to understand the biological needs of a colony of bees. He advocates an inexpensive style of beekeeping.
In the morning workshop he will talk about how to minimize bee defensive behavior and how to recognize the signs bees present to the observant beekeeper. The morning session is from 10 to 12 and the fee is $30. The afternoon session (1-4, fee $45) will be about divide making, the small hive advantage, and honey harvesting. We will carpool to a nearby place with hives full of bees and participants are encouraged to bring beekeeping protective clothing if they can for some time to look into beehives.
The fee for both sessions is $70 and couples get 25% off. Payment by PayPal Ldcbee@gmail.com and Venmo Les-Crowder accepted or at the door, class limit 30 participants. More details and directions to follow. Contact Kate at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions and more info.
