Has anyone heard of the AZ hive, that originates from Slovenia. It is the beekeeping capital of Europe! Their Hives are AMAZING! Minimal disruption to bees during inspections and harvesting the…Continue

Hello Fellow Beekeepers!
My bees did not over winter and I am looking for a swarm. I used to be on the swarm list but somehow i am not on it anymore. I would really like to get a new swarm soon. I have been keeping my eye out but have not seen many bees at all!! Please let me know if you see a swarm or have one you are willing to give me.
Thank you,

My guess is that the dry weather this winter would not be a reasonable explanation for bee loss. My experience has taught me that more times than not it is the mite which weakens the hive so much that the cluster is not strong enough to endure cold nights. There are also other possible reasons. Another thing to worry about is the warm weather we are having during the day. With warm weather the bees are more active. With that activity the bees use honey stores faster. All of us should be lifting our hives to see if it still has the weight of sufficient honey stores. If not we need to supplement with sugar water or other source of sugar.
Wondered if anyone had loss of bees this winter due to the Dry weather?
There is one on eBay for $203.99 plus $96.00 shipping from Slovenia. I happened to see it on eBay and had read the comments here about this hive, so I thought I would share with everyone.
I am desperately trying to find 2 swarms that flew away from their new home(s) Sunday mid morning here in Corrales. I had installed 3 bee packages into their hives Saturday evening and believed everything was fine. There was activity around the hives on Sunday mid morning, but Monday morning when I went to check on them, only 1 hive was still here. I'm new to beekeeping and am devastated to have lost 2 hives. I am willing to pay a reward if anyone has found and rescued them.
Hi James. That $500 price tag is still less than a Warre hive, (Sweet Valley, although they recently reduced the price). I just love how they all fit together in the bee house. Neat, clean, practical. The email I got repeats what you are saying and I believe they will even ship Nucs. How awesome is that?
This hive certainly seems user friendly. I sent them an emil and as soon as I get a response I will share it with you.
I found a company that sells them here in the US but they are $500 including shipping to NM. I want to build one but the plans are not available anywhere. Our only option would be to buy one and duplicate it once we have it. I truly think that this style of hive is great for the bees.
Wow! Thanks for sharing James. Those hives seem awesome. Do you know of anyone who has one?
