Urban beekeeping in New Mexico's largest city.
Welcome! This is a community site for beekeepers in Albuquerque (known as "ABQ Beeks").
Whether you're just getting started or you're a long-time beek, I hope you'll use this site to share information, find events, and connect with each other.
Hang out. Ask questions in the forum. Consider attending a local event. Volunteer to help someone harvest honey or open their hives.
This site needs your knowledge. Please consider signing up and answering questions posted by new beekeepers. Consider creating a special interest group like "Top Bar Beekeepers" or "Swarm Catchers." Post an announcement.
The beauty of a public site like this is that you won't have to answer the same question as many times and can just point new beeks to your previous posts ;-)
To post questions, answers, and events, you'll need to create a (free) account. Just click Sign Up in the top right of the website.
Once you've done that and answered a few basic questions, you're ready to engage.
Did you know you can directly contact people via this site?
Using this system, you can send someone a message that is forwarded to their personal email address. NOTE: Your personal email address is not revealed to anyone but the site administrator (that's me).
To send someone an email, find their page on the list of members, and then click Send a Message.
If you've received an email from someone, you can check your messages by logging in and then clicking Inbox at the top right.
What other questions can I answer about this site for you? I'm happy to help you get started.

How do I get on a swarm and or cut out list
what happened to the swarm and bee removal lists?
I just joined & I have no bee hives yet & I know nothing about bee keeping. I’m a brewer at The 377 Brewery, Gibson & Yale. There is a very active bee presence in our block wall. I would like to take these bees to my garden in Nob Hill. I’ve been alerted that the owners of the parking area that our build sits on....& the bees enter....could be exterminated in time. Can someone help me move these bees to safe ground?
Hello. I used to be on the swarm list for Corrales. I just checked and I have been removed. Can you please add me back?
That makes it really hard to get a hold of people!!!
Hi Josh, The system requires a friend request to be accepted before you can message.
There is no "send message" on Amy Owen's page? I tried to friend request but maybe that's a different system than the message system? I tried to send another message, but the system only allows me to select people who are 'friends' with me. So far that's one person!
Things are a bit confusing.
I need to speak with someone about getting on the Swarm Removal List . . .I filled out and sent in my form . . Listing BOTH headings .I am listed on the "Report a Swarm" heading . . however I wan to be on the Swarm Removal also. Please contact me at 688-6669
I'm also interested in figuring out how to get on the Swarm collection list and the bee removal list. Thanks.

Chris & Lynette Ewer
Hi Carolyn,
A few minutes ago it had old items, it is now showing current items, at first I thought it was my computer, so I checked it a couple of times. Thanks for your quick response.
Hi Ray, how do you see the latest activity feed malfunctioning? t looks ok from my perspective. Thanks, Carolyn
Hi I just noticed today 7-27-2017 that the "Latest activity feed" seems to be malfunctiong it is located on the right side of the ABQbeeks web page.
ron wants on the south vally swarm list 5058046794
Hi Maureen,
because swarm season is primarily in the spring, swarm list admission is only open for a very short time in February and March. Keep an eye out for an email from ABQ Beeks at that time to add yourself.
Thanks
On behalf of Mama's Minerals, I'd like to invite one or more representatives of Albuquerque Beekeepers to Mama’s Minerals 11th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, August 27 from 10 AM – 4 PM. It is one of the largest arts & crafts fairs in the state, with over 100 artists selling exclusively handmade goods. Based on traffic counts from our previous fairs, we estimate that 2,000 people will visit and shop the fair this year.
We’d like to offer Albuquerque Beekeepers one of our Community Rocks! booths, as a chance to promote your organization and reach out to the public. Your booth would be 10 ft x 10 ft, and there would be no charge to you as a Community Rocks! participant. You would, however, need to bring your own table, tent & tent weights, etc. We do have chairs for you to use if needed.
Booths are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner you let me know you’re interested the better your chances of getting in! You may either respond to this email address or call Mama’s Minerals at 505-266-8443 and ask for Amanda. I work Monday-Thursday from 9 AM – 3:30 PM.
Thank you, and we sincerely hope that you are able to take advantage of this opportunity!
Hello Chris,

Who is the public face of this group and how do I contact them in private?
Chris
I posted a message asking whether anyone has Queens for sale. It shows up on my own page but how are others supposed to see it?
